Corals Unlimited – Auction Terms & Conditions

Welcome to the Corals Unlimited Auction Platform. By participating in our auctions, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing any bids.

1. Bidding & Buyer Obligations

All bids placed are final and binding.
By placing a bid, you agree to purchase the item at your winning bid price. The highest bid at the close of the auction will be considered the winning bid.

2. Winner Notification

All winning bidders will receive an automated email containing their invoice and checkout instructions.
If you do not see the notification, please check your Spam or Promotions folders. It is the buyer’s responsibility to maintain accurate contact information.

3. Payment Policy

Payment is required within 48 hours of the auction ending.
If payment is not received within this timeframe, Corals Unlimited may offer the item to the next highest bidder. Repeated non-payment may result in account suspension or permanent removal from future auctions.

4. Shipping & Local Pick-Up

Shipping

  • FedEx Overnight is a flat $50 within the continental United States.

  • Multiple auction wins will be combined into one shipment.

  • You may add additional corals or products from coralsunlimited.com before paying your invoice.

Local Pick-Up

Local pick-up is available at our Topsham, Maine location during regular business hours.

5. Local Pick-Up Time Limit (Mandatory Policy)

All items won through auction must be picked up within 14 days (2 weeks) of the auction close—no exceptions.

If items are not picked up within 14 days:

  • You will receive a 50% refund of your invoice total as a restocking fee.

  • Corals will be returned to inventory or re-auctioned immediately.

  • Repeated late pickups may result in account restrictions.

This policy ensures coral health and prevents extended holding beyond acceptable husbandry standards.

6. Live Arrival Guarantee

All coral shipments are covered by our standard Live Arrival Guarantee.
DOA claims must follow the instructions outlined on our website. Failure to follow claim procedures may void eligibility.

7. Auction Conduct & Fair Use

Participants must engage in honest bidding.
The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Shill bidding (bidding on your own items or having others inflate prices)

  • Bid manipulation

  • Abuse of the platform

  • Fraudulent chargebacks or payment disputes

Violations may result in account suspension or permanent removal from the auction platform.

8. Account Standing & Enforcement

Corals Unlimited reserves the right to restrict or close accounts for:

  • Non-payment

  • Repeated unpaid invoices

  • Failure to pick up items within the required timeframe

  • Abuse of policies

  • Attempts to manipulate the auction system

  • Any behavior deemed harmful to the platform or its users

9. Add-On Policy

Customers may add additional corals or products from our main site before paying their auction invoice to maximize shipping value. Once payment is completed, the order is considered final.

10. Terms Updates

Corals Unlimited may modify or update these Auction Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued participation in auctions indicates acceptance of the most current version of these terms.

By participating in Corals Unlimited live coral auctions, participants acknowledge and agree to abide by these auction terms. Corals Unlimited reserves the right to update these terms as needed and will communicate any changes to participants accordingly.
